Providing you with high-quality, reliable, "green" electricity as an alternative to centralized power generation or combustion generators. Your choices include grid-tie systems for use in conjunction with utility power, or off-grid systems for complete freedom from the utility grid.
Xantrex has four major backup power inverter lines. Every unit includes a high efficiency DC to AC inverter for converting stored battery power to regular household current as well as a three stage battery charger for quickly recharging your batteries when the power outage is over. Here is a brief description of each inverter line:
SW Inverter/Chargers – Xantrex’ most popular sine wave inverter/charger is also used for grid-tie, off-grid and backup power applications. Available in 24 and 48 volt models with 2500, 4000 or 5500 watt output.
PS Inverter/Chargers – Designed for off-grid and backup power applications, PS systems offer reliable sine wave power at a mid-range price. Available in 12 and 24 volt models with 2500 watt output.
DR Inverter/Chargers – Designed for off-grid and backup power applications such as cabins, workshops and well pumps, DR systems offer modified sine wave output at a mid-range price. 1500 to 3600 watt systems available.
Xantrex Trace UR-UPS - The new entry-level Trace UR-UPS backup power products, for Latin America, provide hours of AC power without interruption to keep critical equipment running during a power outage. They are available in 500 and 1000-watt models for 12-volt or 24-volt applications.
Tiger Series – Low cost solutions available in 400-800 watt models at 120 or 230 volt outputs.
Backup Power Systems
Xantrex manufactures complete system solutions to simplify installation and ensure code compliance, while increasing system reliability. Following are descriptions of four Xantrex system solutions with links to more detailed information.
Backup Power System
Designed for home and small business use, the Xantrex Backup Power System (BPS) automatically provides hours of power to priority circuits when utility power fails. A battery-based system, it's a quiet and emission-free backup alternative for locations where generators are not allowed.
Power Panels
Xantrex Power Panels are complete wall-mountable systems that are pre-wired at the factory with either one or two inverters. To install a Power Panel, simply mount it to a wall, connect it to a battery bank, and run power from the Power Panel to the electric sub panel in the home. All necessary AC and DC circuit breakers and enclosures are factory installed. Power Panels are for indoor installation only and are shipped by common carrier.
Power Modules
Power Modules are fully-enclosed power systems, which are factory fitted with AC and DC circuit breakers. Because of the system’s weather resistant housing, Power Modules can be installed either indoors or outdoors. Additional Power Module enclosures can house batteries or more electronics. Power Modules ship separately from inverters and can be shipped via United Parcel Service.
